You Need to Know these Stress Symptoms

by Victor Moldey

Each person is wired to feel some symptoms of stress. An example of stress is, if you are driving and another car suddenly pulls out in from of you, stress is understandable and necessary to help you react faster. There are some types of stress that are not good for you. It can be useful to know the symptoms of stress, so we\’ll be discussing some of the more common ones in this article.

One of the first signs of extreme stress is an upset stomach that may well develop into more serious illnesses like heartburn, constipation and diarrhea. As with any recurring physical symptoms, you should seek medical advice, but in some cases stress is the underlying problem. Think of this scenario: When you feel so anxious and so tense about something, your stomach seems to be filled with butterflies or you experience hyperacidity. Eating while being under great stress is a sure recipe for digestive problems including but not limited to stomachaches, cramps and heartburns. You have to set aside whatever is bothering your mind while you are eating. One of the most worrying related issues with uncontrolled stress is the way it affects our good sense in choosing healthy food choices – we choose oft-unhealthy comfort foods because these give us a fast high, so to speak.

Thinking clearly also become difficult when you\’re stressed out. The more pressure you\’re under the more difficult it becomes to make those calm and collected decisions you\’re often called upon to make. And even though your mind may be moving fast, it\’s actually less efficient because your attention span is lower and your thinking tends to be emotional rather than rational. That\’s why it\’s a good idea to put yourself in a more relaxed state when you have something to focus on that demands your full concentration. You definitely don\’t want to increase your level of stress as a result of bad choices you make while stressed out.

Stress can make you think you are having other serious medical conditions when you\’re really not. People sometimes have difficulty breathing, feel lightheaded or have chest pains that are symptoms of panic attacks caused by stress. However, these symptoms are also those of a heart attack which require medical attention right away. However, if stress is creating such symptoms, this is also serious and has to be addressed, either with the help of medicine, therapy or effective natural treatments. If you know you suffer from panic attacks or other symptoms such as those above you can with the help of your physician learn to manage your stress and keep these symptoms to a minimum.

The symptoms of stress are never pleasant. The more you are aware of the parts of your life that cause stress, the more likely you will be able to make positive changes. Just as having too much stress can make your life worse in many ways, finding ways to prevent it can improve the quality of your life.
