Ohio Sugar Maple Festival

by Sive Iver

There will be a Sugar Maple Festival on April 17, April 18 and April 19, 2009. The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Historical Society will be sponsoring this most awaited festival. The location of the festival will be at the downtown area of Bellbrook, Ohio. On April 17 at 6:00 P.M. the festival will officially start, then on April 18 it will start from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. on April 19 the festival will start from noon and will be official closed by 6:00 P.M.

In keeping with this years theme Once Upon A Time the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Historical Society will be showcasing the Bellbrook Museum. The booths and at the same time the gateway to the guided museum tours will be found at the front of the museums. The theme and guided tours are created in hope that our history will be brought closer to us.

An admission fee of $1.00 or $5.00 for 6 tickets will be sold at the booths. A raffle draw will be done at the booths for the visitors. While for the vendors they will be receiving a water color painting done by local artist, Donna L. Gibson. At the booths the there will be booklets and maps available. These booklets and maps will describe each of the sites you will visit and its history.

This Bellbrook Historical Society Tour will be the first walking tour of the beautiful downtown area. It will feature all the history and stories that the Bellbrook area has in developing its city. With this tour the Bellbrook Historical Society hopes that the public will learn more about its history and the funds earned will help preserve the Bellbrook history.

The Sugar Maple Festival will also feature different activities that children from all ages will be able to join and have fun. For this year there will be new activities like the dinosaur dig, fish pond, Plinko, Lucky Key Game, and a Tatoo Parlor. But the old time favorites will still be there like the hula hoop and jump rope contests.
