Buying Clothes And Ties Online

by Pri Vag

With the increase in the dependency of the internet in peoples lives, I have increasing thinking about a niche area of the internet and that is online shopping. Generally, many people have had the opinion that they would rather go to the shops than look for goods online.

The reasons behind this I suspect are that people generally like to see and feel what they are buying. It makes the experience more rewarding and enjoyable for the consumer. Also it can be treated as a day out for the family and friends. It also I feel adds to the community and helps to serve the local population. It allows us to build relationships with those around us and in turn build a community togetherness which I feel is extremely important.

It is this psychology that I find extremely interesting and the question of whether people and consumers like to stay in or go out to buy garments, clothes and accessories is an increasingly interesting question.

Having stated the reasons for which people like to go out for their shopping, the fact remains that online shopping is a growing industry which is set to continue. It is predicted that this is a growth market and more and more consumers are staying on the internet to find the best bargains.

The major advantages of online shopping are obvious and are there for all to see. The speed, convenience and efficiency at which one can shop is incredible and this is certainly what is driving the market. Consumers are able to receive more choice and variety for their money and in the fast paced life in which we live, this is essential.

For me this phenomenon is set to continue and will have a real affect on the high street and shops alike. However the jury is still out as to whether this is a positive step or a negative consideration for the local community.

Things Your Business Needs To Know When Hiring A Collection Agency

by David P. Montana

Once you’ve decided on delegating your delinquent accounts to a collection agency, the next question is how to find the best one. In today’s current economy there are so many different kinds it can be confusing. Following are suggestions for finding the best collection agency to suit your needs.

The first thing you need to ask when trying to hire collection agencies is whether or not they charge an upfront fee. Most collection agencies charge a percentage of the money they recover. This gives them more incentive to be successful, so there’s really no reason to employ a collection agency that takes your money up front. It frees up more of your cash flow to pay a percentage fee.

Your next question should be if they are members of one of the two professional societies for collections people: the American Collectors Association or the Commercial Law League of America. Membership in these associations indicates a commitment to professional service.

For example, both organizations require perfectly professional conduct from their members. Not only do they conform to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they are committed to training courses for members to teach the latest collection techniques.

In addition, collection agencies that belong to professional organizations are more likely to do their own work rather than outsourcing it. This is important because you want accountability regarding your accounts. If you don’t know the people who are actually performing the collections you can’t really keep an eye on them.

Another thing to ask when you’re interviewing collection agencies is whether or not they make use of private investigation firms or software. Sometimes the hardest part of the collections process is locating the client. It’s absolutely imperative to pick a collections firm that will go the extra mile and hunt the debtor down if the current phone number and address you have for them isn’t working.

Ask your potential collection agency if they do all their own work or outsource it. If you’re hiring a company you want that company to perform the actual work. Some agencies outsource their calls, including to offshore call centers. Unless your collections are international, in which case you will want an international collection agency that is familiar with the local culture, this is not a good idea. Debtors tend to take these calls less seriously.

Finally, make sure your collection agency has staff working outside of standard business hours in order to maximize your collections efforts. If you have collections all over the country it’s better to hire an agency with offices nationwide in order to deal with disparate time zones. Even if all of your collections are local, make sure the collection agency has some people who work early and some who work late, because collections calls outside of the 9-5 time frame are usually more successful.

Real Estate Postcard Marketing Tip: Practice High-Resolution Writing

by Mark B. Bradley

Real estate investors usually consider multiple strategies in a single deal and multi-task several activities in one day. And there are moments, where everything becomes a blur.

And they can focus as long as they need to make them successful. But, when it comes to your copywriting, you don’t want it your mailing’s effort to be scattered on too many ideas.

The best direct-mail copy focuses on a single idea – at most two. And it tells you over and over again why this one benefit (maybe two) will catapult you to the place in life you’ve always dreamt you’d be.

And your postcard mailing for your real estate investment firm is no different. Sure, you may have drawn up a list of 10 or even more reasons why your customer may want to use your services. But don’t use every one of these in your mailing. Save them for a White Paper report or a free marketing update.

Once you picked the one you think is the most forceful benefit and appeals to your prospects the most, you must stick to it. You must be direct to the point when discussing the benefit and avoid integrating additional ones. Two ideas is the maximum.

Oh, sure, all of the others you’ve listed are good. But you need to select the best of the best. Then you do your best to ensure that your reader understands this single benefit is the key to their happiness.

You are not expected to come up with this kind of copy right away. The first few versions of your real estate direct mail will usually require several rewrites.

Think of your postcard mailing as a magnifying glass. It’s the vehicle that’s going to amplify and enlarge your business purpose to your readers. When you were a child, did you ever play with a magnifying glass to try to set a piece of paper on fire? Well, this is exactly what you’re trying to do with your mailing list right now.

With the magnifying glass of your mailing, set your list on fire. Motivate them with just one reason why they should call you. Give them one good reason why they need your services and need it now.

So if you want your real estate direct marketing copy to be an effective tool, make sure to include only one or two benefits. This way, your prospects will be able to focus more on the single benefits of your offer.

Three Types Of Letter Of Credit

by Wade Henderson

Here are some of the types of major letters of credit:

We say that a letter of credit is modifiable and altered when it is a revocable letter of credit. This type of documentary credit does not need to have the approval of all parties involved in order to be modified. However, that is the main reason why they are not frequently used.

The one that is most commonly used is the irrevocable letter of credit. Different from the one we mentioned before, this one does need the approval of exporter, importer and banks in order to be modified or cancelled. This letter of credit is particularly preferred by exporters because it leaves them with no surprise at the time of payment when the merchandise arrives at the port of entry. Irrevocable letters cannot be modified by one person only.

Transferable letters of credit need to be also irrevocable. Through these types of documents, the exporter transfers the right to the merchandise and the payment of the goods. They are often used when the exporter and the importer work together or are part of the same company, or in the case of intermediaries.

When a transferable letter of credit is used, the exporter uses the credit granted by the issuing bank and avoids borrowing or using its own funds to purchase goods from the vendor. Hence, it is a viable tool for pre-export financing.

A letter of credit will show inside its terms and conditions whether the document can be transferred o not. When it is, prior to the transfer the exporter needs to contact the bank in writing and request a disbursement of the funds. The bank will transfer the funds only as it has been established in the terms and conditions of the letter of credit created with the consent of the interested parties. The letter of credit may be received but payment will wait until it is confirmed.

A transferable letter of credit may carry many specific risks to the holder. For one, when a bank receives one of those letters, neither the bank nor the buyer knows the supplier properly.

Banks will be left only with the evaluations of the importer and the exporter’s reputation as a way of judging the trustworthiness of the letter of credit. When they are accepted, supplementary quality controls are requested.

In order to simplify this procedure, many banks prefer to deal with single transfers instead of multiple ones. However, multiples transfers are performed when the conditions are appropriate. Partial transfers may be performed for one or more suppliers when the terms of the letter of credit allow it.

Best Way To Ship Food

by Amy Nutt

Food is something that is great, admitted, and it also makes an amazing gift for people who loves food as much as the rest of us. Shipping food is something that really isn’t one of the most common things. With this stated, there really isn’t much literature about it, as people do not feel that it is one of the safest things a person can do. And with increasing measures on security, the concern is something that is real. One of the biggest things to be concerned about is the safety of the food, as well as time it takes the food to get there.

Time, time, time

Obviously, you’re going to want the food to get there before it gets spoiled. So, timely delivery here is key. If the food spoils, not only did you waste your time, you also wasted money. You will want to make sure that your efforts do not go to waste, so you’ll want to make sure that the timing of this is key, no more than 3 days should elapse before your food gets to where it is going. If at all possible, it should be shipped overnight in most cases, just to assure that it will be as fresh as it was the second that you made it.

Preparation

Be sure that the container that contains your food is something that is secure. If it is something that can potentially have a weak structural integrity, be sure that you take all of the precautions before it is sent. Ideally, the container will be something that will keep the air out, as this is how bacteria and mold contaminate the food. So, security is something of an issue, only eclipsed by the fact that you want your food to get there.

One of the best things to ship would be something like chocolates, which really do not have much of an expiration date, on top of the fact that everyone loves chocolates. In the case of chocolates, they usually do not have any issues with integrity, as they can roll around and not really incur any heavy damage. This would probably be the best thing to ship, although you would still want to make sure that this is secure and that it gets there in a timely manner.

If you choose to use a box for the shipping of your food, make sure that it can withstand the weight of other boxes. The best idea here is to get a corrugated box, sold at many stores that deal with the movement of packages and the like. Sufficient tape will be required for this to work as well as you would like.

In Summation

Be sure that everything is sent quickly, as you do not want much time to elapse before it gets to the recipient. Secondly, you do not want anything to be crushed, so be sure to use a box that you think is strong enough to handle things that may be placed on top of your box. Follow these tips and your food will be thoroughly enjoyed on the other end.

1800-1850: Cravat, Stocks, Scarves, Bandannas

by Pri Vag

1800-1850: Cravat, Stocks, Scarves, Bandannas

At this time, there was also much interest in the way to tie a proper cravat and this led to a series of publications. This began with Neckclothitania, which is a book that contained instructions and illustrations on how to tie 14 different cravats. It was also the first book to use the word ‘tie’ in association with neckwear.

It was about this time that black stocks made their appearance. Their popularity eclipsed the white Cravat, except for formal and evening wear. These remained popular through to the 1850s. At this time, another form of neckwear worn was the scarf. This was where a neckerchief or bandanna was held in place by slipping the ends through a finger or scarf ring at the neck instead of using a knot. This is the classic sailor neckwear and may have been adopted from them.

1860-1920s: Bow ties, Scarf/Neckerchief, the Ascot, the Long tie

The industrial revolution created a need for neckwear that was easy to put on, comfortable and would last an entire workday. The modern necktie, as is still worn by millions of men today, was born. It was long, thin and easy to knot and it didn’t come undone.

The English called it the “four in hand” because the knot resembled the reins of the four horse carriage used by the British upper class. By this time, the sometimes complicated array of knots and styles of neckwear gave way to the neckties and bow ties, the latter a much smaller, more convenient version of the cravat. In formal dinner parties and when attending races, another type of neckwear was considered de rigueur; this was the Ascot tie, which had wide flaps that were crossed and pinned together on the chest.

This was until 1926, when a New York tie maker, Jesse Langsdorf came up with a method of cutting the fabric on the bias and sewing it in three segments. This technique improved elasticity and facilitated the fabric’s return to its original shape. Since that time, most men have worn the “Langsdorf” tie. Yet another development of that time was the method used to secure the lining and interlining once the tie had been folded into shape. Richard Atkinson and Company of Belfast claim to have introduced the slipstitch for this purpose in the late 1920s.

Forming A Corporation, The Essential Principles

by Thomas Markley

The process of forming a corporation may seem like a scary idea but it does not have to be. If this is something you would like to do you can employ the services of specialists or read all about the process and carry out the tasks yourself.

The first thing you need to do when forming a corporation is to pick the company name. You can find out what is off limits by searching the internet and contacting your local corporate office. One stipulation is that the name must end with a word like “Incorporated” or “Limited”. Once a name is chosen you are ready to move forward.

The next step involves electing members to oversee the company such as a director, chairman and members of the board. The amount of people you need may vary so you will need to confirm this with the corporate office again. The people who will take on these roles must be elected before you can even begin to fill in any papers.

Blank forms can then be obtained from the corporation filing office. They will require details such as the name of your company, the director’s name, board member’s names and the address of your company. You may also be asked to appoint a registered agent and provide their details. This person has the responsibility of being the points of contact for the public should any legal matters arise.

Next in the forming a corporation process, is the formation of corporate bylaws. This document outlines the rules that will ensure the smooth running of the business and details items such as planned annual shareholder’s meetings. This is usually followed by a board meeting where board members and the director finalize any outstanding issues.

This then leaves the final stages of forming a corporation which are the issuing the stocks of shares and obtaining an EIN (Employee Identification Number). Once this is complete you are more or less ready to start trading as a corporation.

There is a way to avoid this process which is by way of buying ready made companies. There are organizations that prepare and register corporations, which simply means you then have to buy them. Ready made companies will be priced differently, generally depending on the name of the business and how long it has been running.

Forming a corporation can be worth the hassle as you can take advantage of lower tax rates and limited liability. This means that creditors cannot chase shareholders for debts owed by the company. As long as you abide by the laws governing incorporation, you will be covered for most eventualities.
