Corrugated Cases Vs Wooden Packing Cases

by Claire Brown

When transporting goods either within the UK or even across Europe or worldwide you need a good transit packaging solution to ensure that your products can be transported safely and securely between destinations. Corrugated cases offer one such solution and because they are shipped flat they offer the perfect option for anyone who doesn\’t have the space to store large timber crates and cases.

Corrugated cases can be found in a number of different bespoke designs. For example the half slotted or regular slotted versions are a single piece with a glued or taped manufacturer\’s joint and including either top or bottom flaps, whilst box and lid versions encompass two separate pieces so that one piece may slot securely over the other to secure the contents of the case.

Wooden packing cases provide an additional transit packaging solution if the contents you need to transport are of a bigger, heavier or more delicate nature. Wooden cases are designed to be durable and robust and can easily be stacked to free up usage of space. They also come in many different diverse bespoke designs including those with battened ends, panelled ends or diagonal braces.

Both corrugated and timber cases offer many benefits to the environment because they offer a natural, organic and uniquely renewable packaging solution. These cases can be reused again and again and if they are in a state of disrepair they\’re able to be recycled – unlike other packaging materials. Timber also offers negative carbon intensity in the production process.

If the environmental advantages aren\’t enough to convince you to employ corrugated cases or wooden packing cases then take into account that through the use of these sturdy and robust packaging solutions you are protecting your cherished belongings or completely new merchandise from ruin during transfer and ultimately we would all pay to keep our goods secure and safe.
